Yelverton, all of Eureka, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Eagles. ' Miss Ann Marie Jefferson, a stu dent of Duke University, will be at home with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Jefferson for the Christmas I holidays. lbs. B. A. Fountain, Sr., is im proving after a few days illness. Robert D. LugweD went to Dur ham Monday for an examination at Duke Hospital. Mrs. Mack Smith has been ill for several days, but is improving. Mrs. B. F. Forrest will go to Duke Hospital Friday for observation and treatment . Mr. and Mrs. Cedric Woodall, of j Wilson, visited Mrs. J. T. Bundy on Sunday. F. D. Turnage and son, Howard, . and daughter, Alice Marie, spent Saturday with relatives and friands. Mrs. L. P. Yelverton is ill at her home. Her condition is slightly im proved. Mi** Hazel Owens, a student at E. C. T. C., was at home with her moth er, Mrs. C. L. Owens, Sunday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. John Tyler and baby, of Robersonville, visited Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Eagles Sunday afternoon. LADIES AUXILIARY MEETS The Ladies Auxiliary of Fountain Presbyterian church met Monday af ternoon with Mrs. C. L. Owens. Mrs. J. W. Redick presented a pro gram on Ministerial Relief. The De votional was led by Miss Nelle Ow ens. Miss Mary Carolyn Redictc re cited a Christmas poem. Mrs. R. A. Fountain, Jr., sang a solo and gave a readying both in keeping with the Holiday season. Following the pro gram a candlelight service was ob served. During the service each member brought her Joy Gift for the Ministerial Relief fund. Mrs. Owens, assisted by Miss Mary Carolyn Redick and Miss Sloise Ow ens, served mince meat pie with whipped cream and coffee. STUDENTS HONOR BRIDE-ELECT Miss Ella Flamming, bride-elect of this month, was given a surprise shower Wednesday afternoon in the school auditorium by the students of the high schooL Following a short musical program, Miss Mary Carolyn Redkk pi?oute^, the gifts to Miss Flamming. As a member of the high school faculty for the past five years, Miss Flem ing has found a place of high regard in the hearts of both the pupils ami" patrons of the community, and the gifts showed the love and esteem they feel for her. ? 1 P.-T. A STUDY GROUP The P.-T. A. of Fountain High School held a study group meeting in the School Auditorium Wednesday afternoon. ? Mrs. J. M. Hobgood, of Farmville, led the group in an interesting dis cussion on Christmas giving. Follow ing the meeting a social hour was en joyed. At this time a miscellaneous shower of household gifts was pre sented to Miss Ella Flemming, a member of the high school faculty, who wedding to Mr. Tyrrell Parker of Macclesfield will take place this month.
